I still go out of my way for the most "ccchhrrrk"-looking of them all.

Leaves aside, lets talk about marketing and tools.

3 Reasons Why Email Marketing is Awesome

Email is one of the best supplements or alternatives to social media marketing there is. Bye, Social Media! is 100% team emails. 10/10. All day, every day.

If you don't have a newsletter, yet, or been giving yours so-so attention, here are three reasons why it might be time to reconsider that - and up your email game.

1. You Own the Audience

What sounds creepy means that you own the contact information to your audience. It's yours like a digital rolodex. You can download and store it locally - and you can move that with you wherever you go. It's different on socials, where contact with your audience is baked into the platform. You can only reach them when you're on there, which makes you beholden.

Email gives you flexibility and empowers you to connect with your audience on your terms. We like that a lot!

2. You Can Automate Emails

Automation in business is your friend, especially when you run things by yourself or with a small team. Admittedly, I like to be lazy. I'm all about efficiency in how I run things. I love my work - and I love taking time away from the laptop. Email is your friend in that.

Email lets you pre-write and automate sequences, for example. What that means is that you can automate the emails for an entire content and sales cycle. Everyone who signs up for your email list goes through the same cascade of wonderfully crafted, really informative emails with regular pitches of your products and services. You write it once and it makes no difference whether you serve 500 or 50,000 people on your list.

An automation like that is infinitely scalable. It also helps you step out of the rat race of making content constantly. You still can, of course. Personally, I like that automations like that take a weight of my back. I've set up email automations for the business and I like that that gives me the freedom to write a newsletter when I feel I have good content to offer. Not when I'm on the clock. It's wonderful.

3. Email is Effective - Let's Look at the ROI

Email marketing offers a great ROI - Return on Investment. ROI on email marketing can be as high as 4400%, so 44$€ for every 1$€ spent (source). It's really, really effective.

I think this is in part, because the relationship is different when you give somebody or a company your email address. To me - and I'd love to hear your perspective on this - it feels like the buy-in is higher. If you let somebody in your inbox that's a different relationship than giving a follow on social media.
