Almost 80% of buyers are looking for profitable Micro-SaaS

Hey everyone.
I fully recovered from my illnesses and am feeling much better. Thank you, everyone, for your kind words and support.
This week, I analyzed two surveys from our premium members and newsletter audience. I created a short report about it below.
You’ll learn the most requested category of projects, average budget, and expectations. The data is so wonderful that we have some insights to improve our service.
Also, our team continues working on a transfer service to help sellers and buyers easily facilitate transactions and build trust between two sides.
P.S. I’m grateful to everyone who supports Ukraine in this challenging time 🇺🇦

Now let’s crack on with the newsletter ☕️
🧵 Our audience preferences
Last week we did a survey, and to be honest, I expected more people to participate (we got only 37 submissions). But anyway, I’m happy with the results, and I see that we are moving in the right direction. So today, I’ll share my learnings with you.
1. Most newsletter subscribers (68%) are exploring and learning the field. A third (30%) are actively looking for an acquisition. That was predictable for me because I see many people learn here.
I hope that some of them will become our premium members.
I hope that some of them will become our premium members.
2. Four of the most popular categories our newsletter subscribers are looking for are Micro-SaaS, Content Websites, Newsletters, and Mobile Apps.
Our buyers showed some interest in E-commerce and Extensions. Also, it seems that our audience isn’t interested in agencies. So it was a bit surprising that many people are looking for content sites to acquire.
Micro-SaaS is a clear leader for our newsletter readers.
Micro-SaaS is a clear leader for our newsletter readers.
3. Most of our newsletter subscribers have $5k in the budget. The other part has up to $50k and up to $3k, respectively.
4. Regarding the number of acquisitions, most newsletter subscribers are looking to make only one acquisition every year; the other part is looking to make two acquisitions.
5. 70% of subscribers are interested in pre-revenue startups with some traction. It showed me that concepts with some users but without revenue have the potential to be listed on Microns.
That's pretty cool numbers.
That's pretty cool numbers.
As you can see, the data is pretty straightforward, and we figured out many things we can improve, add and remove. I revised our subscription model, and you’ll see significant improvements in the new year. These improvements will help us to serve our audience even better.
Thank you to everyone who participated. I’ll create a form where you can leave an address so I can send you promised merch.
💰 Transfer by Microns
A few episodes ago, I shared the service we plan to implement to help sellers and buyers easily make transactions.
Do you remember that we asked for help from you to name the service? We’ve got 11 replies, and 7 of them voted for Transfer by Microns. So, we give you credits. Great name. I really like it!
Currently, we prepare templates, forms, emails, and the flow. And when everything is ready, we’ll give the service for free to a few customers in exchange for honest feedback and Twitter testimonials.
I want to build this service in public. So that the next question will be about the business model.
If you were a seller, how much would you pay to the person who will help you sell the project, walk you through all steps, handle the payment, and the legal side?
I set a few options, but you can always add your own:
  1. 5% for all projects
  2. 5% + $80 for <$5k projects and 5% for >$5k projects
  3. 10% for all projects
  4. 10% for <$5k projects and 5% for >$5k projects
I count every vote. To be continued.
Note: the service will be optional, so you can continue transacting independently without commission.
