Florida's new Congressman is a 25-year-old handsome-as-hell Arianator

On Tuesday, we awarded Adam Brody the lifetime honor of Gawker’s Sexiest Man Alive 2022, primarily for the reason of “he looks better than ever” and “he was really good in his arc on Derek in the sitcom Single Parents (2018 to 2020). We made a mistake. We’re human. Thank god Adam Brody is so affable and such a dedicated public citizen, or else this would be pretty tough for us to have to explain to him.

The quorum took a vote, and we actually decided that Maxwell Alejandro Frost, Florida’s new Congressman, is Gawker’s Sexiest Man Alive 2022. Frost, a Democrat who bested Republican candidate Calvin Wimbish for Florida’s 10th District, is 25 years old and handsome as hell. Continue reading

She was just three hours young

Twitter’s gray “Official” check is officially dead, as of roughly 11:39 a.m. on November 9th, after a short, unhappy, much-mocked life of approximately three hours. The cause of death was Twitter’s sage new leader Elon Musk, who announced its passing on Twitter.

The Official check is not to be confused with the blue check, also known as the “Verified” check, which Twitter has used to authenticate famous people and random journalists for several years. Those are still with us, though they will soon cost $8 per month, for reasons that remain unclear to most people.

With blue checks headed for irrelevancy, Twitter introduced the gray check to restore the purpose blue checks currently serve — i.e. verifying accounts whose authenticity is somewhat vital for the regular procession of civil society, such as governments, public figures, and media outlets like Gawker.com. Confused? That’s because you’re not operating on Musk’s level. The man is playing five-dimensional checkers, and his next move was to immediately kill the gray Official check. Continue reading

Do you think Tom Brady voted for Ron DeSantis?

The pair are friends, on a one-on-one texting level, but Trump was Brady’s former main squeeze. And, as you may know, Trump soured on DeSantis once it became clear the Republican party might want a slightly more competent monster to run in 2024. Though Brady has tried to distance himself from Trump, I imagine they have sort of a Georgina and Serena (from Gossip Girl) relationship (not going to explain further) that he can’t quite escape. Critics are saying "better not, luv" to the Diana-focused new season

The Crown’s penultimate season is streaming on Netflix today, the first in a post-Queen Elizabeth world. After sitting through four seasons of smog and courting and the Falklands War, this was supposed to be the good stuff. The divorce, the Panorama interview, all of it. Unfortunately, the new episodes, which have already been marred by the royalist ravings of one Dame Judi Dench, are being panned by critics on both sides of the Atlantic.

Though this series is allegedly creator Peter Morgan’s “love letter to Elizabeth II,” most of the reviews suggest Lilibet Sr. has been relegated to the shadows. It’s a season that lingers on Prince Charles and Princess Diana, and apparently, for the worst. Continue reading
