I haven't been writing as consistently as I did earlier in my career. Time & energy is the obvious constraint.

So I'm trying to correct this now with some systems.

Why?

Writing helps me sharpen my ideas. Sharing helps me connect with more like-minded folks. More connections lead to more opportunities.

Say what you want about "audience", but it can be a cheat code in business (if you remain authentic).

Where?

First, Twitter. Twitter is my main writing space now. It's where my people are (well, most of them are still there). It's where I am. This is where I want my written ideas to connect.  My writing starts as Tweets, then becomes newsletters, like this one.

Drafts! (what a concept)

Ideas hit all the time (and at the worst times!) so my first move is to add to my drafts list. Sometimes just a few words. Ideas need mulling time and editing to really shine. So I'm letting the drafts sit until I'm ready to finish and publish.

The time & energy constraint

I don't have time to write every day. My daily energy needs to go into my business. But I do want to publish consistently. I'm spending 1 morning every few weeks to pick a few drafts, edit and finalize them, then queue up publishing.

As you’ve noticed, I'm trying to revive it by sending it every week. But it's too time consuming to A) write unique content here and B) do the prep and send tasks myself.

So my VA has a process to turn my selected, edited Tweets into newsletter messages (like the one you’re reading!), which she sets up & sent for me.

My topics

As you probably know by now, I like to share a mix of:

• Build in public.
  Sharing notes on the what and why of my projects (like this thread!).
  
  
• Business patterns.
  Things I noticed across multiple businesses I've run that I think are worth sharing.
  
  
• Questions.
  Things I'm curious about.
