Hi, Chris here with issue #308 of Switch Weekly — your weekly update on all things Nintendo. I hope you are doing well.

The biggest story this week has to be the release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet — kicking off gen 9 in a somewhat odd fashion. These games have received a ton of praise for pushing things forward with the typically safe series, but the sheer amount of bugs and technical issues folks are seeing has dominated the conversation. I've read a ton of the reviews, and my impression was that those who have played through these latest games from Game Freak really wanted to love them, but the performance issues got in the way of things far too often. A shame really. But hey, the memes sure have been fun...

Next week there's around 20 games hitting the Switch, but not a lot jumped out at me as particularly appealing (this is where I forget some obvious big realease...).
