Hello, Chris here with issue #310 of Switch Weekly, your Nintendo update.

This week we got another look at the Mario movie, Nintendo acknowledged those Pokemon games aren't up to their usual standards, plus we found out details about a cancelled XCOM-style Metroid game. All this and more in the issue.

Next week we've got around ~20 games coming to the Switch, including a physical release of Cuphead, and a new Dragon Quest spin-off. The full list is below as ever.

▶ The Super Mario Bros. Movie Direct — November 2022 — Another look at the upcoming Mario film. I was surprised to see another trailer so soon after the first. But yup, this is looking good to me — I like the DK redesign.

Nintendo apologizes for Pokémon performance problems, promises “improvements — A rare acknowledgment from Nintendo that these games aren't as good as they could be, delivered in a typically Nintendo way. They are "working on improvements to the game".

⭐️ Swordship — This arcade shooter looks neat it's a fast-paced 'dodge'em up' where your only weapon is enemy fire.

⭐️📦 Cuphead — Yes, the beautifully animated run and gun action game gets a physical release this week, and it includes the recent DLC.
📦 Kukoos: Lost Pets — A bright 3D platformer with 4-player support.

Bot Gaiden — A 2D action platformer with co-op play, and lots of robots.
Coloring Pixels: Collection 2 — 180 levels of pixel-based paint-by-numbers.
Mech Armada — A grid-based turn-based mech strategy game. (Dec 8 in U.S.)
Samurai Maiden — All-female sword-fighting action adventure game. (Dec 8 in U.S.)
📦 The Rumble Fish 2 — 2005 Dimps 2D arcade fighting game. Two player support, with online play. (Physical release is Japan only for now)
Togges — Stack cubes to explore in this non-linear collect-a-thon 3D platformer.
📦🎮 Witch on the Holy Night — Remaster of the 2012 visual novel — a 1980s coming of age story. M for mature. (Physical release is Japan only for now)

Chained Echoes — A 2D story-driven fantasy JRPG with a 16-bit look. Features dragons and mechs. M for mature.
Football Kicks — A budget bit of soccer.
JellyCar Worlds — A new entry in the JellyCar platform/racing series, which was an Xbox Live indie game back in 2008.
Kardboard Kings — An adventure/sim about running a gaming/collectible card brick and mortar store. (EU release date)
Simona's Requiem — A 2D retro-style platformer.

Fri

📦🎮 Adventure Academia: The Fractured Continent — A fantasy strategy RPG with tactical grid-based gameplay.
📦 Death's Door — This Devolver Digital hit first launched last year, but now it's getting a physical release too.
📦 Dragon Quest Treasures — A new Dragon Quest spin-off from Square Enix featuring Erik and Mia. A Switch exclusive for now. Physical release here.
📦 Jitsu Squad — A 2D tag team beat 'em up brawler. Started via a Kickstater campaign.
Petite Adventure — Drive tiny cars around a house and complete objectives.
