Founder who sold his startup for five figures

Hey guys.
This week was tough enough for us. Russian attacks disabled electricity in my region for almost a day. So I’m grateful to have a fireplace and generator to keep my family alive.
The most beautiful part of it is that my team, distributed across the world, kept working, so our customers didn’t feel anything. I love async and remote work and recommend you learn how to do it efficiently.
This week, I worked on the legal and tax side of Microns.
When you start a project, these things don’t matter because you have much more to worry about, like your site and marketing. Still, when you grow the startup into something bigger, you start thinking about giving back to society by paying taxes and sharing knowledge.
In today’s newsletter, you’ll learn a bunch of stuff that will help you become better than you were yesterday, and maybe one day, you build a startup you’ll be proud of.
Also, I received a notification from Revue that they’re shutting down, so soon, I need to migrate all my subscribers to another platform. Do you know any good options?

A good project with a reasonable price sells quickly
This founder built a simple but valuable add-on. This project solves a real problem by extracting your data from different providers like Stripe, Intercom, and Bubble into Google Sheets with good formatting.
The project only had one-time sales, which validated the product. Later, the new owner can change the business model to subscriptions and add more integrations. So people will continue to use it and pay for it.
What you should learn from this deal: You don’t need many features to make your project successful. As a rule, 20% effort for 80% of results will help you achieve PMF. Build fewer features but polish them near to ideal.

Just following up that I've successfully sold this on @micronsio. Thanks to the team for a quick and easy transaction.

I managed to get 5x ARR with $0 MRR.

What to build-to-sell next? 😀 https://t.co/O3rTdQDCZo
I’m grateful to Josh for choosing Microns, and big congratulations to the new owner who bought it. The competition between buyers was challenging.
⚡️ Interview with a founder
Soufiane Loudaini
I recently sold my project for the first time on @micronsio. It was a good experience.
The deal was smooth, and @ilyanovohatskyi was helpful, thank you.
Deal done. Sold.
What a great platform. I highly recommend it!
Introduction
Hey guys. I’m Soufiane Loudaini, a coder, micro-SaaS creator and entrepreneuer. I like to build new cutting edge stuff. I love learning new things. So coding is a passion for me. You can find me making some random stuff when I’m not doing anything. Next.js is my favorite js framework.
First, thank you for supporting us in selling our SaaS. A friend told me about Microns new marketplace for selling Micro-SaaS then. So I asked myself, why not try to list it and see if I got any exciting requests? Well, it’s my first time selling web apps, so I wondered how we do that. Still, it was a good experience, and a responsive buyer.
What was the biggest challenge you faced while building and how did you solve it?
The biggest challenge while building the project is to finish on time (try to take less time) and add only valuable features to offer customers good service.
What’s your goto tech stack at the moment?
Next.js and TailwindCSS for the front end will remain the best choice. Node.js, Supabase, PostgreSQL, SQLite, and Prisma for the backend.
How did you decide between growing further or selling your venture?
I decided to sell my business because I was working on another project. I didn’t have the budget and the time to invest in it, so it’s better to sell it and focus on the next goal.
How did you choose the buyer?
I got some emails before this buyer, but it’s the first one I responded to because he showed us that he’s really interested more than the others. He was asking for a call and a list of the assets.
Have you started working on your new project?
Well, currently, I’m so close to finishing my project. It’s a GPT-3 quotes generator you can link with your Twitter account and start generating quotes, or you can call it tweets. Then if you have turned the AutoPost feature on, you’ll be able to tweet your results automatically to Twitter.
I plan to start building an App for Stripe Dashboard. They are still in beta, but it’s time to do so.
