Hey, issue #315 of Switch Weekly here with your Nintendo update.

Many thanks to those of you who got in touch last week with thoughts and comments on the upcoming State of Switch 2023 survey. It will be returning in the middle of next month, so any and all thoughts are very much appreciated.

There's just over 20 games hitting the Switch next week, including two Persona ports and the all new Fire Emblem Engage. Hit reply to this email and let me know if you plan on getting anything.

If you thought last year was "sad" for Switch, 2023 might be hard to handle

Ubisoft "surprised" by lackluster sales of Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope — This doesn't come across as wholly surprising to me considering for the past five years we've all been conditioned to seeing the original game on sale for around $10. No matter its merits, I think seeing the first game on constant discount has maybe hurt this one?

▶ The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 Trailer — It has been six years since this amazing trailer gave us all another glimpse at the Nintendo Switch's greatest game, Breath of the Wild. It is crazy to me that we are now only a few short months away from its sequel and we know soooo very little. On the one hand I love that the follow up is so shrouded in mystery - but another part of me feels the fear of second-album syndrome has gotta be weighing heavy on Nintendo's collective shoulders. Rubber Bandits — A 1-4 player party brawler about grabbing as much cash as you can.
🎮 Smilemo — Side-scrolling action game featuring a smiley in virus-filled computer.
Trenches — A WW1 first-person survival horror game. (Jan 20 in U.S.)
Void Prison — Fast-paced, endless arcade twin-stick shooter that puts you inside an ever-shrinking ring.

Escape to the Ocean — Fishy adventure.
⭐️📦 Fire Emblem Engage — A new tactical RPG which brings back some much loved characters.
Gardenia — A 3D gardening sim with elements of platforming, crafting, adventure, etc.
Motorcycle Mechanic Simulator 2021 — It's 2023, but ok.
OmegaBot — A tight 2D action side-scroller with challenging robotic bosses.
Peachy Boy — Budget 2D puzzle-platformer with a main character that looks like Kirby's cousin or something...
