🐢 We are all looking for the same thing

February 9, 2022
We are devastated by the unfolding news from the earthquake that struck much of southern Turkey and northern Syria and has claimed the lives of more than 13,000 people. We have reached out to our chapter hosts in the region to see how we can help, and will compile a list of organizations you can contribute to in the coming week. In the meantime, our volunteer chapter hosts Ilgın of Antalya and Emre of Istanbul have asked that you share these posts from Fayn Studio and Wiser Media to help spread reputable information about donating to relief efforts.

Ndukwe Onuaha

If we’re able to let our guards down and just to listen to each other, we’ll find that we’re all looking for the same thing.”

Spoken word poet and copywriter Ndukwe Onuaha is an enchanting storyteller. In his talk for CreativeMornings/Derby, Onuaha tells Nigerian folk stories, like the one that explains why the clever tortoise has a cracked shell, or the thunder god that’s the Igbo parallel to Thor. The prevalence of folktales, no matter where you come from, speak to the fact that we all are searching for answers to shared mysteries and attempting to pass along moral guidance. Listen to Onuaha’s beautifully told stories and imagine what new stories we might tell together.

The word CORRUPTION on a background of digital glitch

Our theme for March is "Corruption," chosen by our Monterrey chapter! In what arenas do you feel the effects of corruption? Whether it’s political (people in power trading influence for favors), digital (your old files are losing their fidelity), or ecological (the bacteria and fungi that break down decay), how do you make sense of all that corrupts around us? Whether it’s a story, image, observation, song, poem, or other artifact, you can share your submissions in this form. We’ll feature a round-up in our Corruption issue at the end of the month!
