Energy

Revamped Tesla Solar configurator
This week, Tesla revamped their Tesla Solar configurator, allowing customers to select future needs such as more electric vehicles, home additions, pools, etc. The new system suggests a system for your home based on these selections. Good job, Tesla team!

Tesla will be opening some Superchargers in the US to all EVs soon
There has been a rumor about Tesla opening up their Superchargers in North America to other EVs for some time now, but this week the official Tesla Charging account announced it on Twitter. They also announced that their US network will more than double by the end of 2024, which is fantastic news. Looking at how this has worked out in Europe, where the market share that Tesla has of the EV market is much smaller than in California or the US, the experience seems to be not bad for Tesla owners. Actually, my friend Lars from @TodosElectricos said, "It's been open for nearly a year in Europe, and our Tesla to other EV ratio is much lower than in the US, and truly - it's fine."

New Products

Another close-up picture of the latest Cybertruck prototype 📷
Quite a few details are different from the first unveiled Cybertruck, such as the lack of door handles, rearview mirrors, and the presence of a big wiper blade. I can't wait to see the first ones fresh off the production line.

Lots of rumors about the March 1st event
There are many rumors about the March 1st event, where Elon said they will introduce the third part of Tesla's master plan. Some of the rumors include the unveiling of a new car and news about battery supply.

Europe

Tesla approved to sell Model S and Model X in Europe with Hardware 4 (HW4/AP4)
Tesla has been approved to sell the Model S and Model X in Europe with Hardware 4 (HW4) and Autopilot 4 (AP4). Tesla is expected to introduce the HW4 with the Cybertruck this summer, it's unclear when that will make it to the Model S and X and to Europe, but at least they now are allowed to do it.

Tesla gears up for European launch of Tesla insurance
Tesla established its European insurance branch in Malta in December 2020, and now the company is seeking to hire a legal counsel who specializes in insurance in the European market. This suggests that Tesla may be planning to expand its insurance product to Europe.

FSD

Elon just took FSD 11.3 for a spin
Elon Musk stated on Twitter that he test-drove FSD version 11.3 through San Francisco and Los Angeles, and he believes it is very close to being released to a limited number of customers. According to pages that track software updates released to Tesla vehicles, some employees have already received the update.

Under the hood

We've torn down over 100 cars and here are Tesla advantages 📹
This video is a bit long but definitely worth watching. In the video, Cory Steuben from Munro and Associates analyzes what he believes are Tesla's advantages, based on his experience of dismantling and examining over 100 cars at Munro and Associates.

Tesla Semi in Phoenix 📷
The Frito Lay Tesla Semi made an appearance at the Super Bowl Experience in downtown Phoenix over the past weekend, and a Redditor was able to snap a few pictures.

🤓 What the acronym
As a Tesla fan, I find myself sometimes having to remember what are all those acronyms, here is a list of the ones you can find in this issue.
  • AP - Autopilot
  • EV - Electric Vehicle
  • HW - Hardware
  • FSD - Full Self-Driving
