But before, some theory…

Theory states that if only 2% of #b2b buyers are in the market to buy your thing at any one time, then you need to make them know, like and trust you, so when they do enter the market, they come to you.

How do you do this?

Start with Step 1: getting them to know you.

We call this metric “total targeted impressions”.

And right now… there’s a place online where you can buy very targeted impressions on LinkedIn for… well basically nothing.

In short: set up text ads that sit in the top right corner of the screen, and don’t get clicked (but are charged per click).

In long:

1 - Create a new campaign.

2 - In the "Objectives" section, choose "Website visits".

3 - Dial in your targeting to match your Ideal Customer Profile (aka ICP).

4 - In the "Ad format" section, choose "Text ad".

5 - In the "Budget & schedule" section, choose "Set both a daily and lifetime budget" and set a "Daily Budget" of "10" and a "Lifetime Budget" of "100" (just to be on the safe side).

6 - In the "Bidding" section, choose "Landing page clicks" for the "Optimization goal" and set the "Cost cap" for the "Bidding strategy" at "5" (but this is just to get it going... eventually you can lower that down (in case a lot of people really start clicking on them).

7 - Then click on "Create new ad(s)" and fill out the various ads. Try to start with at least 25 ads in total since they will get so many impressions. A fast and easy way to get to 25 is to:

a) use Canva.com to make five variations of your logo and / or tagline... make sure that the variations will be readable when they are displayed in their true resolution of 100x100px,

b) create five catchy, and hyper relevant to your ICP, headlines (25 characters max),

c) create one description (75 characters max) that again will resonate with your ICP, and lastly

d) in the "Destination URL" select "Your Company Page on LinkedIn" because I believe that the LI algo favors ads that keep people on their platform.After all the ads are created, click on the gear icon next to "Ads in this campaign" at the top of the page and choose "Rotate ads evenly".

8 - Launch campaign!

If your ideal customer sees this ad enough times, they will remember you and come to you when they are ready to buy.
