What's wrong with my Twitter reach? My (almost scientific) experiment to figure it out

After one week of not posting on Twitter, I returned yesterday with a long-form post.

In there, I talked about why I hate Twitter (I don’t really hate it, read to understand).

The point is that part of what made me unhappy with the platform was how I felt my reach was down.

This is a widespread concern, especially since Elon took over.

The question is, is it true that my reach has actually been capped?

For that, I decided to do what I do best: look at what others are doing to figure out if it’s true.

How?

I picked 7 creators I look up to (ranging from 9k followers up to 340k) and looked at their latest 7 tweets.

Then, I calculated what % of their audience saw their tweets.

Purposely, I didn’t consider threads or giveaway tweets.

Just regular tweets.

The result?

The % of audience that sees tweets ranged from 6% up to 44%, but the average number for the 7 creators was 20,25%.

It’s actually higher than I expected.

Obviously, this is not a scientific experiment, so these numbers should be taken with a grain (or a full cup) of salt.

I just took 7 tweets, put them on a spreadsheet, and did some basic math.

But it was helpful for me to see how others were doing and understand if my assumptions were correct or not.

I am at 11%, so below average. That means I have work to do!

💡 The lesson here: don’t be bogged down because your content doesn’t reach the full extent of your audience.

You might be doing better than you think.

3 Quick Thefts on copywriting and AI

#1 - Recession proof copywriting

There's no denying we are in a recession.

This means that most creators will see a dip in their product sales

But the smart ones?

They'll adapt their products to it and make even more $$$.

Dan Koe is proof:

This landing page copy belongs to one of Dan’s products .

Adapting the copy to the current situation is a smart move.

A problem (people not buying digital products) becomes a sales opportunity (get this recession-proof skill now).

Another example, this time with AI:

Everyone worries AI will replace them.

Dan capitalizes on this audience fear by offering another of his products as “AI-Proof.”

I bet it’s really working for him.

#2 - Make your copy tangible

I’m a big fan of simplicity when it comes to writing landing page headlines.

Last week I came across yep.so.

The headline is just soooo good 👇

But what I really loved is the subheading.

I took this screenshot at 9:54.

The subheading tells me that I can get your first signup by 10:07.

So 15 minutes later (like the headline promises).

This small detail makes the result tangible. There’s no doubt it converts well.

#3 - Chat GPT Content Tip

In most people’s minds, ChatGPT acts as a writer or creator.

I like to see it more as an editor/idea partner.

I feel that’s where it shines the most (at the moment).
