I have a great contributor to my Tarot Talk publication on Medium, and she had written an article that made me think:

You Don’t Need A 1,000-Card Spread to Do an In-Depth Tarot Card Reading

And there is a lot of truth to it. I have to say I never bothered to use the Celtic Cross spread for any of my readings. Why? I did not think it was necessary.

This article points out why I don’t feel it is to me. I mean, some tarot readers may feel differently.

Plenty of tarot readers feel doing large-spread tarot readings like the Celtic Cross is necessary. And that is okay. They have to do what they think is best.

But you can get just as much of an excellent in-depth reading from a five-card spread. I find that to be the case.

You even have some excellent three-card spreads that you can get an insightful reading from, as there are so many three-card tarot spreads.

I only use a large tarot spread when I do the Zodiac spread, which consists of 12 cards representing each sign during the year.

What Are Some Insightful Three-Card Tarot Spreads?
