What is your “official” professional role and field?

I’m a Journalist and Digital Marketing Specialist.

What if your unofficial role and field?

My unofficial fields are Social Impact, DEI and Gender. I like to create and lead initiatives to empower women and gender-diverse individuals and use technology to promote opportunities for everyone. I also use data to formulate internal policies that address concerns identified through research.

How did you get to where you are today in your career?

Embracing change, accepting that my career can be flexible and dynamic, and going to places I never thought it would go if I want to remain true to my interests, learn and have fun along the way.

What kind of support are you most excited to receive at this point in your career?

I would like to work in Social Impact as my official role and contribute to an impactful project or company using my knowledge and experience. I would love to be introduced to great employers or clients (The Bloom is a great resource for this!) or receive tips on how to make it happen.

Your relationship to “social impact”: has it evolved since you began your career?

Yes! At first, as a Journalist, I was used to being an observer who engaged others to act by telling stories. I am now more hands-on, and using that storytelling and my professional experience in Digital Marketing to engage others to join me. It feels honestly more rewarding working on a solution than observing a story from far away and moving to another once finished.

Lessons you’re taking away from the first few years of your work experience, and applying to the next chapters of your career.

The power of networking and sisterhood! Something that was very important at work in my home country, Argentina, and became crucial when I migrated to Sweden. As a migrant, is not only important for work but also to figure out how things work, to get support and resources and to mingle with others. I’m really grateful for all the women’s groups here that offered me a helping hand and a warm welcome.

Our partners at Vitala Global have launched an incredible design challenge + mentorship program for sexual & reproductive health activists💜

The design challenge welcomes young content creators from the United States, preferably Latina/x and Hispanic, to create content at the intersection of SRH and mental well being. You will be competing to be part of a Rise in Reproductive Justice Fellowship that Vitala will curate over 8 weeks with mentors working on sexual and reproductive health, human-centered design and wellbeing.
