#114 – Conversations About Economic Illiteracy and Critical Rationalism
This week, I published two interviews. The first interview features Per Bylund, an Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at Oklahoma State University and a Senior Fellow at the Mises Institute. His latest book, How to Think about the Economy: A Primer, serves as an introduction to economic reasoning and aims to improve economic literacy. We talk about the prevalence of economic illiteracy, “social entrepreneurship”, the primacy of theory, Cospaia: the forgotten country, Javier Milei, and much more. The second interview features Tom Hyde, a geologist with degrees in geoscience and natural hazards. Beyond his academic expertise, Tom has a strong interest in a variety of subjects. These include the scientific and philosophical works of Karl Popper and David Deutsch, as well as libertarianism, climate and risk, gender theory, aesthetics, anti-aging, and pro-natalism. In our discussion, we explore many of these interests through the lens of critical rationalism. You can also listen to both episodes on Apple Podcasts or Spotify. Follow me on X @arjunkhemani.
