As we head into the fall months, the weather gets cooler in the northern hemisphere, but the world of web3 gaming isn’t cooling down at all!

Welcome to the 195th edition of the Play to Earn newsletter!

Lots of things happening this week! Gods Unchained teases us with a Season Two announcement, promising a new card set, new god powers, and more! Boss Fighters is holding a special, three month long event letting players design Boss skins that may be added to the game as NFTs! We also have an upcoming preseason launch from Big Time, Legends of the Mara is now live, Synergy Land is holding an open access playtest, and Legacy will be going live towards the back half of October!

But all is not rosy in the world of web3 gaming. The ongoing sluggishness of the crypto markets has resulted in some funding issues for some games. Notably, Splinterlands announced a company downsizing, and StarGarden is forced to shut down completely as they look for new funding sources.

But for every project that downsizes, another takes a step forward! Parallel now lets players create duplicates, or Echoes of their cards, kickstarting a player-driven economy. Sugartown opens up their Ora staking program, and Gabby World, a game created by players with the help of AI prompts, enters into closed beta!
