This week, we’re looking my top three Halloween Costumes.
Growing up, I was all about dressing up and putting on costumes. Stage makeup? Yes, please! Wigs? Why not? Dressing up was one reason I did theater. It was fun to don a fancy dress or weird glasses and just become someone else for a little while. Plus, it meant my zany, over-the-top side could have a reason to be on full display. I loved acting out scenarios, trying accents, and, generally, just messing around with my imagination. While Halloween is not my favorite holiday, I do love the excuse to put on a costume. Eventually, I got too old to trick-or-treat. (In our household, we stopped at high school.) No matter! I didn’t care. I could dress up anyway and hand out candy to the kids who came to our home. I didn’t miss the Reese’s Cups (much…) - what I wanted was the costume. I don’t dress up as much as I used to, but Halloween is a great time to throw together a fun outfit and just pretend for a little while.
