Today, I have my cheering voice on.

The husband, after many many months of training, ran (is running?... not sure about the timing of when this posts versus where he is...) the Marine Corps Marathon.

While I will never understand his drive to complete such a painful physical feat, I am more than happy to support his hard work. The training regimen is no joke... and then you actually have to run the race! And this is his second marathon! It's impressive.

After his first marathon, he told me he would never do it again. I think it took all of four months for him to start training again.

I have a feeling this is probably not his last marathon.

Still reading Chasm by Stacey McEwan. Normally, I would have finished this kind of book in about a week. Sadly, I'm just not vibing with it. I've read only a few chapters the last few days. It's not bad; it just not hitting the spot. I should probably put it down and try something but, since it's a library book, I'm just going to keep pushing through. At this point, I just want to know how it ends without all the plot in the middle.

• We finally got around to finishing the documentary Zero Days. This work looks at the Stuxnet virus that targeted Iranian centrifuges. While the virus was a true feat of technology, the impact it had was probably not what was intended. While the US and Israel have not officially claimed this work, pretty much everyone knows our two countries were behind it. I greatly appreciated the deep research the filmmakers put into this piece. I also loved that they covered the negative unintended impacts and what this means for the future of cyber warfare. [Amazon Prime]

• The husband meal planned this week to make sure he got the nutrition he needed before running today's marathon. It was kind of nice to try some new things. We had tuna steaks with cucumber relish. This was on the lighter side but I loved the vibrant flavors. I would make the relish on its own again and eat it with some pita chips. I also roasted off some turnips as a side. [BBC Good Food]

• For my lunch meal prep, I made cold peanut noodle salad. I was smart this time and put the peanut lime dressing on the side. I mixed it all together at my desk. It held up much better in the fridge, using this method. This was quick to throw together and, while light tasting, proved to be rather filling. Also, I "cheated" and used pre-made broccoli slaw instead of chopping my own veggies. [Budget Bytes]

I take nothing but joy from cancelled meetings. I am a firm believer that we hold too many meetings (or invite too many people to meetings). Meeting Cost Live is a tracker you can use to see the actual cost of a meeting. It’s a blunt force tool, but it can put things into perspective.

My slides for my Library Marketing and Communications Conference presentation are due Wednesday. I’m very excited about my content but I’m going to be tweaking things up until the last minute.
