1. Switch to Thought Leader ads on LinkedIn

What’s the tactic?

Instead of company ads, try LinkedIn’s Thought Leader ad type, which allows you to promote your content under your employees’ profiles.

What was the result?

Following a $7K test, Parker William decreased LinkedIn ad costs by more than 3x, doubled the engagement rate (to 3.38%), and achieved a positive ROI when using Thought Leader ads vs company ads.

2. Highlight your USPs under your CTAs

What’s the tactic?

List your USPs (unique selling points) under your CTA (call to action) buttons. For example, “True to size, all-day comfort, easy exchanges & returns, and premium quality” listed as USPs under a “Check out now” CTA button.

What was the result?

Oliver Kenyon applied this tactic to his fitness clothing client’s “Check out now” CTA, in addition to a switch from a static cart page to a dynamic cart slider. Combined, these changes led to an increase in revenue of $0.32 per session, and $21,516 per month (+14.3%).

3. Optimize the first 3 screenshots displayed in the App Store

What’s the tactic?

Include the following in the first 3 app screenshots that show up in the search results of the App Store:

Screenshot 1: Your target keyword in large text. For example, for a "breathing exercises" app, you could write "Feel Better with Proven Breathing Exercises."
Screenshot 2: Social proof.
Screenshot 3: A unique selling point that makes you stand out from competitors.

What was the result?

With this tactic, Steve Young increased downloads by 30% for his client’s app.

4. Look beyond CVR

What’s the tactic?

At times, tactics that lead to a decrease in CVR (conversion rate) can still help increase your total revenue and profit. Make sure to look beyond CVR to assess the success of your experiments.

What was the result?

Arthur Root’s client reordered their product bundles to show the most expensive upfront, and the least expensive last, on their ecommerce site. This led to a slight decrease in CVR (-0.91%), but a 21.03% increase in AOV (average order value), which increased total revenue.

5. Explain the reasoning on your quiz result page

What’s the tactic?

When using a quiz as part of your funnel, clearly outline on your result page why the chosen product or solution is the perfect fit for your prospect, based on their responses. This helps to convince prospects that their results are personalized (and not fake).
