I’m gonna keep it real with you.

Every guru on every corner of the internet is telling you X business model is better than Y business model for beginners.

You might think I’m about to tell you that it “doesn’t matter which one is better so as long as you stick to one.”

While that’s true for the most part, I’m not going to tell you that.

You’re gonna hear my honest opinion here — and this is coming from someone who did:

When I say I “did” these business models I’m not saying I tried and failed.

I scaled most of these to 7 figures and exited them out.

With that being said, you’re probably wondering:

“If you’ve scaled all these business models, which one is best for beginners?”

So here’s my take:

Affiliate marketing is not super scalable
SaaS is time-consuming and expensive
eCom will require you to juggle dozens of roles

That leaves us with 1 option — the best route in my opinion: Your own agency

Startup costs are next to nothing.

And all it takes is:

Mastering 1-2 high income skills
Getting clients
Delivering results

In this email I’m gonna teach you *everything* you need to know to start your marketing agency from scratch and bring it to $10,000/month.

I’ll also show you the agency model I’d personally pick if I had to go from 0 to $10K in 2024 at the end of this email.

A marketing agency can be boiled down to about 25 systems that you do to make it successful.

We can bucket these 25 systems into 6 main buckets for simpler organization.

Each bucket needs to be done in a systematic order. Here they are:

Foundations
Prospecting
Closing
Onboarding
Getting Client Results
Reporting, Retention, Referrals

1/ Foundations (Skills & Expectations)

Remember those 25 systems I mentioned earlier?

Those are basically the sub-tasks we need to do with each bucket.

A/ Commit to Consistency

The foundations are an important stage because this is where most people are going to quit.

At this stage, you need to have the mental commitment to stay consistent.

It’ll take months to master the skill + get clients but that’s fine.

We have the intention to take it to the finish line.

Do whatever it takes to keep yourself in the game.

B/ Understand What It Takes To Be An Agency Owner

As an agency owner, you’re exchanging an in-demand high-income skill for money.

[For example, if I make $100,000/month through my eCommerce store selling cat toys I need someone to run my TikTok for me.

I’d pay you $3,000/month if you can make me $30,000/month.

Especially if I don’t have the time to do so.]

A high-income skill is provided as a service to solve a problem.

E/ Define Your Agency Offer

An offer is the outcome (solution to a problem) you’re selling.

You package up your skill + niche + outcome into your offer.

You’re basically presenting your skill.

An offer is NOT:

“I do Facebook Ads”
“I’ll grow your community”
“I’ll manage your social media”

An offer is:

“We help fitness coaches lower cost on acquisition and give them viral ads.”
“Turn your audience into a cult build a community and adding $10,000/month to your business.”
“I’ll get you highly-qualified consistent and predictable inbound leads from your social medias using a tailored-for-you content strategy.”

F/ Define Positioning For Your Agency

Positioning is how you’re gonna sit inside of the minds of potential prospects.

It’s all about explaining how your outcome is vital to them.

Keyword — YOUR outcome.

Positioning makes sure YOUR outcome stands out from competition.

It’s your competitive advantage.

The end-goal with your website is to get calls booked.

Here’s how you’re gonna structure yours:

2/ Prospecting

Here’s where you’re gonna get your feet wet.

You’ve practiced our skill.

You know your offer.

Your know your positioning.

You’ve got your agency website set up.

Now it’s time to reap the fruits of your labor.

AKA: Get the money (clients).

There are 2 prospecting strategies.

A/ Cold Email

1. Cold email a dozen people a day.

2. Continuously follow the prospecting strategy and lead them all to our website to book calls

3. Aggressively follow up with potential leads

4. Understand that outreach is a numbers game. 50 outreaches will not change your life. Thousands are needed.

B/ Twitter (X)

Twitter is the best place to grow an audience of buyers straight from the get-go.

You don’t need 100K+ followers here.

Closing 6 figure deals begins happening anywhere from 500-10,000 followers.

(It can happen at less than 500 followers too)

3/ Closing

When people book calls with you either from DMs or content, you have 1 primary objective on the sales call: Solve their problems.

Don’t think of it as you’re trying to sell them.

Don’t be desperate to close.

They’ll smell it from a mile away.

Enter calls with the mindset of genuinely helping the person you’re talking to.

If you’ve followed the previous steps correctly your prospect should already trust you (to some degree).

Figure out why they hopped on the call with you.

Get them to admit what they’re doing right now isn’t working.

Tell them the process you have that’ll actually work.

If they like it, send the invoice and get them onboarded.

However, you’re gonna hear “No” a lot before you hear “Yes.”

So your goal should be to get your first “No” on a sales call to get your feet wet with the process.

Sales calls are a numbers game until you close.

To understand this numbers game, should track your conversation rate:

An example conversation rate is 4 closes per 100 people — making it a 4% conversion rate.

That sounds absolutely LUDICROUS, I know.

But keep in mind if your service is $3,000/month and you close 4 people — that’s $12,000/month.

As you go through sales calls, you’ll pile up objections (reasons why people don’t wanna buy).

With each call, you’ll take note of these objections.

Create a solution/rebuttal for every single one of them until they’re not a problem on sales calls anymore.

Listen back to your sales calls to find room for improvement too.

4/ Onboarding

You’ve got your skill.

You’ve got your offer.

You’ve got your positioning.

You’ve figured out prospecting.

You’ve closed your first client.

Pat yourself on the back once you’ve gotten to this point.

But at this point — you’re just getting started.

Now it’s time to put your money where your mouth is.

First things first you have to remove any buyer’s remorse.

Removing this makes your client excited to work with you (and likely to renew).

This is done through a smooth onboarding process.

An Example Onboarding Process

1. Get payment
2. Send follow-up email requestion any necessary access or assets
1. You can use software such as Zap to set this up
2. Ask them to book a kickoff call with you (can be done in the email)
3. Have a kickoff call where you overview what they gave you

5/ Getting Client Results

Even when you’ve started working for a client, you’re still not a vetted professional

There’s always room for improvement.

Don’t ever get too cocky thinking you know enough to deliver results until the end of time.

Keep learning, adapting, and improving before they hire someone else.

As you’re providing the deliverables described in your offer, you’re gonna realize you need to automate or *systemize* them.

What do I mean by this?

Client work is just repetitive tasks.

Systemizing means to organize the task at hand into sub-tasks through a step by step checklist fashion.

AKA: You’re own Krabby Patty formula.

That’s what a system is.

If you imagine SpongeBob creating a Krabby Patty…

1. He gets the buns
2. He toasts the buns
3. He cuts up vegetables
4. He gets the patty from the freezer
5. He throws it on the stove
6. He puts it together
7. He applies other condiments
8. Etc.

I kind of just BS’d that.

I don’t remember exactly how he does it, but you get the idea.

That’s SpongeBob’s system — the steps it takes to get a Krabby Patty.

You’re gonna systemize the entire process of delivering your work.

Here’s how:

As you deliver work, you’ll have to deal with your first client complaint eventually.

Rainy days are inevitable.

Just make sure you improvise and overcome so you can land your first client win.

6/ Reporting & Retention

Create an entire reporting sheet so you can show your clients the results at the end of the first month.

Then create a script/system for monthly reporting call and share it with them on the call so they’re not left in the dark.
