Today we’re listening to Gooooose, a Chinese electronic music producer based in Shanghai. The project is from Han Han, who’s also a software engineer and visual artist.¹ Gooooose’s music brings together a panoply of musical influences; each track sounds meticulously designed, reflecting the other artforms he practices. We’re first playing Rudiments, the LP from last year, whose thought-provoking pieces range from ambient to frantic. Then we’re playing Rusted Silicon from 2019, which skews more jungle and techno, and includes three remixes.
