Google to Charge for AI Search Results?!?

As you likely know, Google has been testing their Search Generative Experience (AI generated search results) for several months now.

However, it has recently been reported that Google is now considering charging searchers money in order to use AI search.

This is NOT the business model that we saw coming.

It's estimated that AI search is much more expensive to generate and the assumption is that Google is making less money from ads in SGE.

If it's more expensive to produce and generates less revenue, you might need to switch up the business model.

And that appears to be what Google is considering.
