Some of the places hit hardest by COVID-19 in the U.S. seem to finally be over the hump. For the first day in the past month, new coronavirus hospitalizations dropped below 1,000 yesterday in New York. But we're not out of the woods yet. Many states are reopening their economies, including restaurants and beaches, even though they still have thousands of cases. That’s causing some models to predict that there are still many more deaths to come.
