Issue 326 - Model Y Juniper refresh sneak peek

Software Updates

FSD 12.5.x expected for HW3 in 10 days
HW3-equipped Teslas might be getting the Full Self-Driving (FSD) version 12.5.x update soon. Elon Musk indicates a significant software effort is required to optimize the code to run on HW3 hardware, with a targeted rollout starting in approximately 10 days. A separate validation for HW3 is also necessary before the deployment.

Update 2024.26.3 - release notes
The 2024.26.3 software update rolls out with a variety of new features: YouTube and Amazon Music integration for ad-free listening (requires Premium Connectivity or WiFi), Go on Green and Speed Limits utilizing cameras expansion outside of the US, full version of Castle Doombad Classic game, Parental Controls for speed and curfew settings, local weather updates on status bar, scheduled charging and preconditioning, refined sub-destination navigation, enhanced climate panel, and security fixes.

Accessories

Tesla's new CaraokeMic is now available
Tesla spices up the deal for Model 3 Performance buyers by offering free Tesla expands its accessories by introducing the CaraokeMic for $215. I'm definitely not the target audience for this new accessory, but I'm sure some of you are!

Model Y ambient lighting retrofit is now in China 📷
Model Y owners in China can now retrofit their dashboards with a new ambient lighting system for about $180. This retrofit includes a textile dash replacement and offers up to 256 color settings for a customized and immersive cabin experience. The retrofit is currently exclusive to certain production dates, and owners must check compatibility and schedule the upgrade at a service center. I really like the ambient lighting in my Model 3, but would I pay $180 to retrofit it? I'm not sure.

Superchargers
Tesla diner Supercharger gets frame for second screen ðŸ“·
Southern California's evolving Tesla diner and drive-in theater recently erected the frame for its second movie screen. This unique Supercharger location, first envisioned by Elon Musk in 2018, combines nostalgic elements like roller skate waiters and rock and roll music. Once complete, EV owners can relish classic movie moments while charging their vehicles, supplementing the Supercharger network with a blend of futuristic tech and old-school charm.

The move also serves as a pioneering example for law enforcement agencies worldwide on leveraging electric vehicles effectively.

Plaid

In Quebec's Napierville Dragway, a Tesla Model S Plaid owner, Miguel Roy, surpassed his own quarter-mile world record with a time of 8.56 seconds, outpacing the previous best by more than two-thirds of a second. The vehicle had been modified for increased power output and reduced weight. What a 🚀.

As a Tesla fan, I find myself sometimes having to remember what are all those acronyms, here is a list of the ones you can find in this issue.
  • EMS: Emergency Medical Services
  • FSD: Full Self-Driving
  • HW3: Autopilot Hardware version 3
