I talk to new and early-stage SaaS founders every week. 
 
After hundreds of these conversations, it's become much easier to see if a new SaaS will get early traction or struggle. 
 
Ask yourself these 5 questions to evaluate your SaaS: 
 
1. Is your Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) specific enough? 
 
Can you describe your ICP clearly enough to build a list? Is it niche enough to gain traction? Too broad = trouble. 
 
2. Are you solving a real, urgent & important problem? 
 
Are you solving surface complaints, or digging deep to uncover urgent, core pains where real opportunity lies? 
 
3. Can you easily get in front of your customers? 
 
Do you know where your customers hang out? If you can’t find them, how will they find you? 
 
4. Have you proven a customer acquisition channel? 
 
Do you have at least one reliable customer acquisition channel? Or are you testing 2-3 high-confidence ones? 
 
5. Have you validated the idea with potential customers? 
 
Have you validated your ICP, problem assumptions, and willingness to pay? Interest alone doesn’t equal success.
