Likes. Reposts. Bookmarks. It's definitely something you shouldn't ignore.

But there's one metric that you don't see mentioned anywhere and it's crucial for going viral.

It's "Time on post".

How much time are people spending on your post?

I've seen posts with hundreds of likes but only a few thousand impressions.

And i've seen posts with hundreds of likes and with many tens of thousands impressions, even hundreds of thousands of impressions.

The first one is a platitude. Quickly liked. Quickly scrolled past.

The second one is a video or image post with a comprehensive graphic you need to click on (to see enlarged) to understand. 

It also makes sense. Elon has said on many occasions that there are more than enough posts on 𝕏. But not enough substance.

The platitude is just a post. A long form tweet, a (comprehensive) image or video is substance.

Optimize for substance and chances of going viral are much much higher!

In July, Threads reached 200 million monthly active users.

Now, a new report from AppFigures indicates that the app was one of the most downloaded in August.

It rose to 6th overall and 2nd place on the iOS download charts, with 28 million cumulative downloads for the month.

It had previously ranked 8th in January and 7th in July.

Mailsuite analyzed the 5-star user rating breakdowns for nearly 1,500 top communication and social media apps on the Google Play Store.

They created a series of infographics ranking the email, messaging, and social media apps that users rate the highest in every country — and the ones that fall short.

It turns out that TikTok is the best-rated social media app, while Threads ranks second (though quite far behind).

I’m pretty sure you can guess which one is the most hated social media app 😅

App researcher Aaron Perin has reported that an upcoming update will allow users to add bold and italic text to tweets through the 𝕏 iOS app.
