Weekly Project Updates: World Chain, Eclipse, and Fuel Launch Mainnets, Sui Foundation Responds to Allegations of …
1. Worldcoin Rebrands as World Network and Launches Its Layer 2 Mainnet, World Chain link Following its official rebranding to World Network (World), Worldcoin has launched its Layer 2 mainnet, World Chain. The blockchain is built using OP Stack and will be supported by prominent platforms including Optimism, Alchemy, Uniswap, Safe, Dune, and Etherscan. World Network reports that user transactions account for approximately 44% of the activity on OP Mainnet, making it the largest application on the network. 2. Eclipse: Public Access to Eclipse Mainnet Now Open, Official Bridge Launched link Eclipse, the Ethereum SVM Layer 2 network, announced via Twitter that its official bridge is now live. Over the next four months, all platform fees on Scope will be donated to the Eclipse Creator Fund, aimed at supporting artists and their creative endeavors on Eclipse. As the Eclipse mainnet opens to the public, withdrawal features will be available in the coming weeks. 3. Fuel Labs Announces the Launch of Its New Layer 2 Network, Ignition Mainnet link On October 16, Fuel Labs announced the launch of its new Layer 2 network, the Ignition mainnet, which utilizes the UTXO model and supports parallel transactions. According to Fuel Labs, Ignition can process over 21,000 transactions per second on a single core, with its underlying FuelVM virtual machine providing efficient execution capabilities for decentralized applications. CEO Nick Dodson highlighted that Ignition aims to leverage the security of the Ethereum mainnet while avoiding congestion issues associated with global state trees, thereby enhancing network scalability while maintaining user-friendliness on consumer-grade hardware. 4. Scroll Team Address Airdrop Points Exposed, Users Question Fairness of Distribution; Co-Founder Responds: Team Will Not Claim Airdrop link Through an on-chain investigation conducted by community user @Andrey_10gwei, it has been revealed that dozens of addresses associated with the Scroll founding team received airdrop points ranging from tens of thousands to millions. For instance, the address 0x1e…CB0 deposited $1 million in USDC into Scroll at the end of October last year and subsequently deposited funds into Aave in mid-February of this year, accruing over 1 million points. Additionally, another address, 0x472…4C7A, which provided gas fees for 0x1e…CB0 and has been flagged by Arkham as a suspected Scroll team address, received 43,000 points. This address first deposited funds into Scroll on October 10 of last year, initially depositing 46 ETH and later withdrawing 30.1 ETH to multiple addresses, while currently holding approximately 15 ETH. Notably, the suspected Scroll team address 0x472…4C7A also received gas fees from the address associated with haichen.eth, which is a signer of the multi-signature address “Scroll: Fundraise.” Currently, the Scroll airdrop has yet to be distributed, making it impossible to confirm whether these suspected team internal addresses qualify for the airdrop; however, the community widely believes that the number of airdrops will be linearly correlated with the accrued points. As of now, Scroll has not commented on this matter. Sandy Peng, co-founder of Scroll, addressed concerns regarding point distribution and team wallets, clarifying that all users, including project and team wallets, automatically accumulate points through cross-chain transfers or protocol interactions. She emphasized that team and treasury wallets hold points primarily to support ecosystem development and operations, ensuring the security of funds and liquidity management. To prevent conflicts of interest and ensure fairness, Peng confirmed that Scroll’s co-founders and team members will not claim any airdrops. 5. Sui Foundation: $400 Million SUI Seller Is Not an Insider link The Sui Foundation has responded to allegations regarding the $400 million token sell-off, asserting that no insiders, foundation members, or employees of Mysten Labs participated in any such token sales, and that all operations adhered to the lock-up period and circulating supply plan. The foundation emphasized that the wallets referenced in the allegations may belong to their infrastructure partners, whose operations also comply with regulations. According to analyst @defioasis, the allegations may stem from the redemption and transfer of a large number of tokens from the Sui staking account 0x7f3b…3239e4 to exchanges such as Binance, OKX, and Bybit. Since June, associated addresses have redeemed over 82.6 million SUI from this staking account and transferred them to these exchanges through frequent small transactions. This activity was initially noted by Korean professor Jaewoo Cho last August, indicating that it was not a recent reaction to market upswings. In June of this year, the Korean media outlet Block Media also reported signs of these token movements, suggesting that some tokens entering exchanges were related to “Travel Rules.” Crypto Assets TAX Report — Professional,Effortless,Crypto-native. Sonic Reveals Tokenomics: 6% of Initial Supply Allocated for Airdrop link Sonic Labs has released a simplified white paper (Litepaper) detailing its plans to introduce tokenomics based on community governance proposals. The key points are as follows: upon official launch, the circulating supply of token S will be approximately 2.88 billion, with a total supply of 3.175 billion, comparable to the supply of FTM; six months after launch, the network will allocate 6% of the initial total supply for an airdrop to reward Opera and Sonic users, with vesting occurring within nine months post-airdrop; starting six months after the launch, the network will mint 1.5% of the initial total supply annually over six years to fund growth, while any unused tokens will be burned; four years after Sonic’s launch, the annual inflation rate will be set at 1.75% to incentivize validators. 7. Sei Announces the Launch of Stablecoin fastUSD, Supported by Elixir link Sei has announced the launch of its stablecoin, fastUSD, which is supported by Elixir. FastUSD is the first yield-bearing stablecoin on the Sei network, integrated with DragonSwap and JellyVerse to enhance liquidity and composability for Sei’s decentralized exchange (DEX). Cross-chain asset transfers are facilitated through Hyperlane, while data assurance is provided by Redstone Oracle, further enhancing the stability of fastUSD. Official sources indicate that users holding fastUSD will be eligible for rewards in Sei tokens and participate in Elixir’s incentive program. 8. deBridge Launches Governance Token DBR with Airdrop to 491,000 Wallets link The cross-chain protocol deBridge has announced that its governance token DBR is now in circulation and will be airdropped to 491,000 wallets. DBR is an SPL token on Solana, with an initial circulation of 1.8 billion and a maximum supply of 10 billion. All airdrop recipients can choose to claim 50% at the Token Generation Event (TGE) and the remaining 50% six months later, or claim 80% at TGE with a 20% penalty. All strategic partners and core contributors will be locked until six months after the TGE, at which point they will begin vesting (20% will unlock, with the remainder vesting quarterly over three years). deBridge stated that this airdrop is the first-ever cross-cryptocurrency (on-chain and off-chain) custodial airdrop, collaborating with over ten centralized exchanges, including Bybit and Kraken. Ten percent of the airdrop will be claimed by centralized exchanges, while 90% will be distributed on-chain. 9. Hyperliquid Announces Hyper Foundation and Plans to Launch a Native Token link Hyperliquid has announced the establishment of the Hyper Foundation, aimed at supporting the development of the Hyperliquid blockchain and ecosystem. As part of this development initiative, Hyperliquid will launch its native token, HYPE, which is crucial for the advancement of the HyperBFT consensus and HyperEVM. Eligible users can claim HYPE tokens and the commemorative NFT “Hypurr” before November 11, 2024, in celebration of the forthcoming launch of the HyperEVM mainnet. 10. PancakeSwap Introduces PancakeSwapX, Offering Zero-Fee and Gas-Free Transactions on Ethereum and Arbitrum link PancakeSwap has announced the launch of PancakeSwapX, designed to enhance the trading experience for users by integrating liquidity from multiple sources, including PancakeSwap’s AMM, other decentralized exchanges (DEXs), and external liquidity providers. Key features of PancakeSwapX include seamless integration with the PancakeSwap interface, zero-fee trading at launch, improved execution prices for users, and gas-free transactions. PancakeSwapX will initially be launched on Ethereum and Arbitrum. Follow us Wu Blockchain is free today.
