💛 Hey Reader,

Regardless of the outcome of today’s election, I want to put a few words out there. This isn’t a victory lap by any stretch of the imagination, but in these hours of not knowing the outcome, I think it’s important to applaud the efforts of those who have had the foresight and took the initiative to speak out against bigotry, chaos, and fascism.

These past ten months, if not longer, have taken a toll. We’re all worn down, mentally and emotionally exhausted. But there are a few things we need to keep in mind. By taking an active part in helping America become the best version of itself, you’ve demonstrated that these things matter:

  • Acceptance of objective and truth matters.
  • Knowing and doing what is right—integrity matters.
  • Pursuing justice matters.
  • Compassion in action toward those less fortunate matters.
  • Respecting the dignity of people matters.
  • Resisting hate matters.
  • Love matters.

Thank you to everyone who participated in pushing America to become the best version of itself. Chances are there won’t be a parade in your honor, but that’s okay. Because you know what steps you took to further this American experiment in democracy. And isn’t that what matters most?

Now, we wait. And hopefully, it won’t be an inordinate wait.

Love one another.
