Here’s a resolution for you: become a better blogger.

We keep hearing that blogs are a waste of time and SEO is dead... but the reality is that most businesses are simply handling their blogs all wrong.

We analyzed 7,350 blog posts from 215 blogs. Every blog had an email list as well as social profiles on at least 4 social networks with a minimum of 2,500 followers each.

Here’s what we found:

As you can see, blogging is a long game.

But when you’re doing it right, it will keep producing results.

To reach that kind of traffic growth over time, two things are critical:

• Keyword research
• Updating old content
