Sofie Hagen - It is a big day for you and me

Surprise, you're getting married/pregnant/fired/hired/inspired.
Sofie (Sits Down With A Cup of Tea and) Writes A Letter
What a day, what a day, what a mighty fine day

Here's the deal: I ramble a bit and after the rambling, I have my exciting announcements. Scroll down if you hate rambling.

Okay, I am not going to ramble a lot this time. This week has been one of the busiest weeks I have had in a long time. And I love it, don't get me wrong. It's nice to be distracted from the fact that the entire world is ending and a virus is running wild and our leaders are absolutely useless to their core. I appreciate every email I get because it represents 10 minutes of me not having to worry about death so much. lol. Hi, I'm usually funnier than this (lie).

This is just a very big day in my life. Somehow all the planets have aligned and all of the things are happening at the same time.

First of all: Tonight! Tonight, July 23rd, at 9pm (UK time), I am doing an online show. You can watch it from anywhere in the world.

It's called 'How To Love Your Fat' and I will be talking about gender, sex and dating.

It will be an hour or so long.

After the show ends, if you wait 40 minutes or so, it will be uploaded and you can see it again (or for the first time) for 47 hours. So if you're busy tonight or it's 4am in your country, you can just watch it tomorrow night instead. Basically - you have no excuse.

You might be like 'I am super poor' which is an actual excuse. I have a discount code for you. Type in the voucher code 'landlordsareshit' and if you are one of the first 150 people using it, you get 40% off. Yes mate!

I am very excited for this. Very! Hope to see you there.

Oh, and I'm doing the next online show on August 20th and it's called 'Let's Talk About Health and Fat' and I'm so so so excited for this one. Let's actually go through the whole health thing. I'm so ready to be angry and funny about it. You can get tickets for that from the link above.

Second of all: Today we have announced our new podcast! Alongside criminal psychologist Dr Julia Shaw, I co-host the very new podcast 'Bad People' on BBC Sounds. It's a true crime podcast where we explore the concept of evil. We talk about the worst of the worst people. Murderers, cannibals, CEOs and so on. It's quite science'y and funnily enough, I disagree with everything Julia says. I like that a lot. It makes it a bit special.

The trailer is up now and first episode will be out next week. Go subscribe to 'Bad People' on BBC Sounds now. (but it should also be up on all other podcast platforms, I think.)

Thirdly of all: My book is out in paperback today! Yay!! So if you love little soft books about how to be happy and fat, you're going to want to get it.

I have three more big announcements coming, but I think I will let you soak all of this up for now. And I will be back with more news soon.

Thank you for being awesome. I hope to see you tonight at the show.

Here are some more fun reminders:

 Reminder: I am on Cameo!

Cameo is this website where you can buy a personalised video message for yourself or a friend or family member. Or enemy - whatever you want. So far I've been booked to do peptalks, especially body positive or feminist pep talks, birthday greetings, anniversary messages - it's a lot of fun. I ramble a lot and the videos end up being much longer than the other people on Cameo (I've noticed).

So if you'd like to book a personalised message, book it here

ALSO: I'm still selling my stand-up shows!

I am selling my two shows 'Dead Baby Frog' and 'Shimmer Shatter' on this link - they're £5 minimum, but if you're broke, you can use the code 'eattherich' to get 50% off. Now, if you are rich, you can also choose to give more than £5. You can give, say, £2000 per show. That'd be nice. Thank you, rich person.

Also a reminder: I'm on Patreon!

Some of you have asked me if I considered making a Patreon account for me - in general - instead of it being just for Made of Human Podcast. And no, I'd feel weird not having an actual "product" to give back to you. But what I will say is - the minimum amount to give per episode on my Patreon is one dollar. My podcast is weekly, meaning, at the most, there will be five episodes in a month (max!). That's five dollars. That's around £4 a month. And at the moment, it wouldn't just go towards the podcast - it would go towards me and all of my work. And I continue to be in awe of you all and your kindness and willingness to support. So here is my Patreon if you want to sign up - you will also get access to a bunch of extra special mini-interviews with most of my guests, like, Tim Minchin, Travis Alabanza, Grace Petrie, Ed Gamble, Suzi Ruffel and so on. They're for Patreon-supporters only.

Speaking of Made of Human Podcast - I hope it can bring you entertainment and comfort these days. I'm having some incredibly conversations with amazing people. Go listen here or wherever you listen to podcasts.

I hope you are doing well, wherever you are and whoever you are. I hope you are taking deep, deep breaths and that you are remembering to be extra kind to yourself. I hope you find time and spoons to do self-care. I hope you are educating yourself and learning to unlearn. I am very grateful for you.

Love you.
Stay safe.

Sofie.
