This week’s money mood: Career inspiration

This past week, we’ve been sharing the remarkable women+ of 2020. Some of them came to the spotlight just this year; others have careers full of achievement.

Not gonna lie: Their stories were incredibly fun to work on. But just as meaningful are the stories we share all year long about your career wins. Like:

•	GiGi from Louisville, KY, who turned down a job that wouldn’t pay her what she’s worth and felt great about holding that boundary.
•	Rhonda from Charles Town, WV, who got her dream job and negotiated a higher starting salary.
•	Saima from Ewing, NJ, who got a new job that lets her work remotely while she looks after her dad during COVID.
•	Sarah from Portland, ME, who left a boss who kept passing her over for promotion for a new job with more responsibility and nearly double her salary.

I love these so damn much. Becoming more intentional about your career will change your life — in salary, in satisfaction, in a sense of purpose.

We share both kinds of stories — of making history and of taking that next step — because they fill us with joy. Because women+ don’t get recognized nearly enough for our accomplishments (or *cough* our titles). Because it’s well past time to normalize talking about them ourselves.

And also because they might inspire you to take your next life-changing step.
