What you might have missed from Eater Wine Club

If you’ve yet to sign up for Eater Wine Club, the monthly wine subscription we launched in November, you’ve missed a lot. Like the chance to hang with our favorite wine pros from across the country, the opportunity to learn about beloved neighborhood restaurants you’ll probably (definitely) want to visit one day, and, most importantly, some seriously delicious wine regularly dropped on your doorstep without you having to do any work. 

Other things you’ve missed?

• A history lesson on the buzziest of wines — orange ones! Stellar somm Zwann Grays, of Brooklyn’s beloved Olmsted, traced this now-trendy technique all the way back to ancient Greece in our first virtual wine hang. 

• Sipping on a bottle of Domaine Tatsis Roditis with a couple hundred fellow wine enthusiasts. This spontaneously fermented bottle, made from indigenous grapes picked by hand, was arguably the star of our first box. 

• Getting schooled on bubbles by Miami’s Bianca Sanon. Do you know the difference between the ancestral, tank, and traditional methods for making sparkling wines? And which bubbles, from pét-nat to prosecco, come from which? You would if you joined Eater Wine Club!

• An incredibly refreshing take on the idea of “celebration wines” — hint: They don’t have to be bubbly — and a helpful cheat sheet on pairing your wines to your vibe.

• And, obviously, eight thoughtfully curated bottles of wine, any of which would make even last night’s pizza taste like a real treat.
