Happy Birthday, Starman. We are missing David Bowie, today, on what would have been his 74th birthday. One of our youngest writers has made a playlist of her favourite Bowie songs and shared a little about what he meant to her.

For any fans, we can thoroughly recommend getting tickets to watch the stage show Lazarus, which is livestreaming this evening. The musical was one of the last big projects David Bowie worked on before his death, five years ago on Sunday. Starring, Michael J Hall (pictured), the story is loosely based on the Bowie film The Man Who Fell To Earth. It features lots of his songs and – on watching it this week – made us feel quite emotional. A huge loss, that is still being felt by so many.

It's been a really tough year for new acts trying to break through. Eurosonic Noorderslag is a European music festival that celebrates and showcases emerging talent from around the continent. This year it's moved online but the good news is you can watch all the showcases for free. We've picked five artists from five European countries on the bill who are well worth checking out. (And yes, we are fully in denial that Brexit happened).
