Hi Friends-

Nice to see you here in 2021. ✨

It's been awhile since I've been in touch so let me give you a quick rundown of what's percolating...

R.I.P. productivity & a podcast break. Earlier this week, I released a new episode of the podcast called "R.I.P. Productivity." It's a deep dive into the painful new consciousness that the pandemic has called forth, and a call to action for the new year and the New Era we're on the cusp of. It asks us all to meditate on what it's time to leave behind and how we can be a part of seeding the new world we want to see.

Following this episode I'm taking a break from the podcast for a little while. I'm not 100% sure what form the podcast will return in, but — as the title of the final episode suggests — it definitely won't be focusing on productivity. I want to find a new topic that's in sync with this new era. So stay tuned for more on that. : )

RESET revamped for 2021. For those of you who have kindly inquired: Yes, I will be reopening my RESET course for the new year. Albeit slightly later than usual. I've been doing some behind-the-scenes tune-ups to tweak the structure of the course and add almost 4 hours of new content.

If you're new to this list, RESET is a 4-week course that shows you how to work in a way that's intentional, energizing, and inspiring. It's all about leaving burnout behind and learning how to work in a more sustainable way. I call it "a cosmic tune-up for your workday."

I'll be re-opening the course on Feb 9th. Visit reset-course.com to get on the list for details!

The Light Heart Project, my new baby. Lastly, a big part of what I'm moving into for the new year is doing more energy work. The pandemic pushed me to explore new ways of doing remote reiki and other types of energy healing, and it's been such a gift. A whole new territory of possibility has opened up.

If you're interested in exploring this new territory with me, I'm launching a new email list specifically devoted to my energy practice, called the Light Heart Project. If you're curious about reiki, guided meditations, or group energy work, this is for you.

LINK ABOUT IT

What with the onslaught of news these past few weeks, I've been trying to take in less media so I find myself rather "link light" this week.

Instead of articles, I thought I'd share some of the books and albums that I spent time with in 2020.

From my soundtrack of 2020

Listening to Cosmic Ocean Ship by Mia Doi Todd is like going on a tropical folk vacation.

The instrumental album Luminous Emptiness by “hang drum” duo Hang Massive is transportive and deeply soothing.

¿Dónde Bailarán las Niñas? by Ximena Sariñana is pure pop feel-goodness.

Michael Kiwanuka's new self-titled release is marvelous and epic. (His two previous albums are also incredible.)

I love the simple spirituality of Bill Fay's Life Is People. (And wasn't he dead-on with that title?)

I probably listened to "Fire" by Waxahatchee, off the album Saint Cloud, more than any other song this year.

Tsegue-Maryam Guebrou's 1963 jazz piano album Emahoy is absolutely timeless and unlike anything else.

Loyle Carner's heartfelt album Not Waving, But Drowning has a beautiful effortless flow.

I like most anything by James Blackshaw, whose tender instrumentals kept me company through many reflective moments.

I recently got Always on My Mind by Willie Nelson on vinyl, and now it's my go-to for hanging out by the fire.

From my book stack of 2020:

The Death of Vivek Oji by Akwaeke Emezi

Monogamy by Sue Miller

The Regenerative Life by Carol Sanford

Having and Being Had by Eula Biss

Intimations by Zadie Smith

Just Us by Claudia Rankine

Know My Name by Chanel Miller

The Power by Naomi Alderman

Energy Healing by Ann Marie Chiasson

You Belong by Sebene Selassie, who I interview here.

Wishing you calm amidst a tumultuous start to the new year.
