Ghostland Observatory

Take a journey to "synth-city" as Ghostland Observatory returns after an 8-year hiatus, delivering a diverse project that is equal parts dreamy and spooky. Highlighted with piercing lyrics, the focus here is definitely still on the wide range of electronic elements that take the listener on a mythical journey of sound. Mostly down tempo, this album is a perfect backdrop for a chill night with some sparkling lights ... just don't get caught off guard when the bass comes around!

For this throwback Thursday we're taking it back to the 1970's when long hair, body odor, and rebellion were all the rage. The power-quad of David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash and Neil Young were known as much for their provocative folk ballads on the current state of affairs in America as they were for their powerful rock anthems. Déjà Vu was their second studio album and the album that produced many of the hits the group was able to tour off of for the next 10 years. It's a must-listen in the history of folk-rock in America.

As a hobby, I’ve been playing guitar for the last 9 years, and over the years I’ve adopted an appreciation for a lot different genres, but I also loved that classic rock sound, and these guys (Greta van Fleet) are a group of 20 years olds that managed to revive that classic rock sound in a modern era. Their sound and lyrics are just dope, and all of their songs are just a blast to play on guitar! Officially a fan boy now.
