🤔Who will qualify for the $1,400 stimulus checks?

Democrats are one step closer to passing the next stimulus package without Republican support. They’re fast-tracking budget reconciliation, a congressional tool that bypasses the filibuster and requires only a simple majority to pass legislation. 

It’s still unclear exactly who will receive the next round of stimulus payments. President Biden has insisted that the stimulus checks will be $1,400, but targeted to individuals and families that need them the most. And last week, the Senate passed an amendment to the budget resolution that ensures “upper-income taxpayers are not eligible” for the next round of payments.
