A list of things you can learn right now

Reader,

My friend Nick Gray went to a conference on automating your life and wrote up his notes on what made one of the presenters great.

He’s not making a dime from the post. He doesn’t even know I’m linking to it. He just thought it was interesting and wanted to share it with the world.

The most interesting people I know all share this skill — they love to learn new things and share them with the people around them.

(The reason this is on my mind is that this week I'm talking about my Teach Yourself Anything course.)

The thing I loved most about Nick's post is that Nick didn’t need to become a professional speaker to write this post. He just tried something new and then shared what he learned. Awesome.

In fact, I valued this post so much more than someone creating a “bucket list” of how they want to become a better speaker someday. Nick showed us that you don’t need a Ph.D. or 10,000 hours to learn something new — you can do it in just a couple hours.

If you deeply absorb this, it can change your life. It’s the antidote to boring.

This week, today, right now — you can learn something new, fun, and interesting.

To prove it, here is a list of things you can learn in just a few hours, or minutes, with tutorials. There's something here for everyone. Pick one and give it a try:

How to pick a lock with paper clips

Gmail keyboard shortcuts (these allow me to read 1,000+ emails a day)

How to say "I love you" in 10 different languages

10 tips for taking better iPhone photos

How to chop an onion (without crying)

How to ask for a raise (could be worth over $1.3M in your lifetime)

How to moonwalk

P.S. We're hiring an SEO Lead. Work with smart and passionate people to champion new customer growth and rapidly test new ideas. 100% remote. Learn more and apply here.
