Game developer Electronic Arts produces shows to expand reach 'as a media business'

Electronic Arts, a gaming company, is expanding into entertainment to meet an influx of gamers who have joined the community during the pandemic.

Everyone in esports is a media business these days, including developers like Electronic Arts. The gaming company is looking to appeal to new gamers by expanding its production of entertainment content. “We think of ourselves as a media company and that means trying to think of the best forms of entertainment that are going to make our titles fun to watch by billions of people," explained Todd Sitrin, general manager of competitive gaming entertainment at Electronic Arts.
