Hey all!

This week, we have three innovative opportunities for you!

Opportunity 1: Osano (Micro-SaaS)

Osano is a data delivery platform that allows users to make their websites and mobile apps compliant with local and global privacy laws.

Recently, Europe has taken a large step forward with their privacy regulations, via three major initiatives: the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the ePrivacy Directive (the 'Cookie Law'), and the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) Guidelines.

Together, these initiatives create strict guidelines as to how the data of European users can be collected, stored, and used.

For internet companies, this created a large problem regardless of their country of origin. Since they serve a global audience, these companies needed to quickly conform to these new guidelines or else risk fines and penalties.

This week, we'll be looking at why companies are moving in droves to management solutions like Osana, and explore how in the world a cookie consent software could make sense for down-market companies - most of which might not even be big enough to worry about the fines yet!

Opportunity 2: PiktoChart (Level 2 - Indie Hacker)

Piktochart is a web-based application that allows users quickly and easily to create visual content such as infographics, presentations, reports, social media graphics, and much more.

Visuals are one of the best ways to grab the attention of an audience, and it's a key part of a successful marketing strategy.

However, the market is so saturated with tools that help people create visuals, is there really room for a bootstrapper to build a new product?

That's what we'll be exploring today! We'll look at competitors like Canva, Venngage, and Visme, briefly analyzing their acquisition strategies to understand why a bootstrapper would struggle to enter with a direct competitor.

Then, we'll look at a niching strategy that might allow a founder to build a similar tool for data-based reports.

Finally, we'll examine a demo of an MVP for our potential product, discuss the three most important aspects of the MVP, and finally discuss three unique audiences that have the potential to be fantastic early adopters of this product.

Opportunity 3: Xoxoday Plum (Level 2: Indie Hacker)

Last but not least this week is Xoxoday (pronounced Zo-Zo-Day) Plum, a platform for digitally sending gift cards, targeted towards medium and large businesses.

We'll discuss why these companies are lining up to offer rewards-based programs, despite their dubious scientific claims, before discussing an innovative alternative for driving employee behavior - empowering employees to make meaningful contributions to the charities they care about!

Most of the opportunities I discuss on Software Ideas are focused on the profitability of the market - and this one is no exception. However, this opportunity in particular has the chance to also be a fantastic force for good in the world.

If you're the type of founder who's looking for a business that combines profit and meaning, this one's for you!
