School Teacher Starts Flipping Expired Domains

I put the word out on Facebook and Twitter for somebody I could talk to about flipping domains and building new sites on expired domains.

Sean Markey was the most recommended guy.

Sean was a school teacher, but after losing his job in 2013, he got hooked on marketing and SEO.

Since then, he has been on quite the journey, including selling an affiliate site in the high 6-figures, to get to where he is today as the premier expired-domain guru!

After leaving his job as a teacher, Sean:

• Worked for a period in an SEO marketing agency (basically building PBNs with expired domains)
• Started building out his own niche/authority sites
• Tried to start his own SEO agency (somewhat unsuccessfully)
• Worked for Travis Jameson at Smash digital SEO agency

Alongside this, Sean was developing his skills on how to best work with expired domains. He always worked on his own sites and tested out different things, especially relating to expired domains.

I had the chance to sit down with Sean and we discuss how in 2019, he started an affiliate site and later sold that site in the high 6-figure range.

We also talk about how he bought an expired domain in early 2020, build out a site on it, and sold it seven months later for $130,000!

Google Algorithm Update Has Been Postponed...

Google announced that it is postponing its page experience update, specifically the ranking change, from May 2021 to a gradual rollout that won't start until mid-June 2021.

So, you have a little longer to work on your core web vitals.

If you haven't already you should check your page status with the new Google new page experience report in the Google Search Console.

Built to Succeed

Sometimes Google changes its algorithms, and sometimes there is a worldwide pandemic.

But it's essential to focus on and control what you can control.

It's essential to have a plan and built to succeed (not fail, like Blockbuster that I discussed in my Monday email).
