The problem with too much SEO data, hidden paid search features for PPC marketers, and other top stories from the past week.
Can SEO professionals ever have too much data? The answer is yes, and it may do more damage than you think.

The idea that data always lead to better analysis is nothing but a common misconception, says SEJ's Roger Montti, and a new category of SEO tool offering "SERP Analysis" is promoting this outdated concept.

Webpages ranked at the top of search results might share similar attributes, but those attributes are not what's causing those pages to rank.

"Some of these tools will analyze more than the top ten of the search results. They may analyze the top 30 and higher," Montti says. "But more data does not translate into better analysis. The idea that more data will yield a better analysis is a common misconception."

Instead of analyzing other sites in search results, focus on making your site the best it can be.

Is your website ready for Google's Page Experience update rolling out in June?

If you own one of the 5 million websites running on the Elementor plugin for WordPress, you'll be relieved to know it's now easier than ever to improve your Core Web Vitals scores.

As with all Google updates, it's hard to predict the impact of the Page Experience Update ahead of time.

Even experienced PPC marketers may not be familiar with these 12 hidden features that fly under the radar.

VIP Contributor Lisa Raehsler makes several cases for why Microsoft Ads should be considered over Google Ads, with exclusive features such as multi-image extensions.

Using images in ads can get you into hot water if you don't own the content.

Keep your legal bases covered with these resources for free, high-quality photos.

While you may see others do it, it's not legal to grab an image from Instagram, for example, and use it in an ad.

Content published on social media belongs to the site it's published on.

Content is a valuable commodity that users contribute to social media sites for nothing in return.

There's at least one site trying to change that, as Instagram is committed to getting content creators paid in the near future.
