What are some small things that you can do on your site that can have a great effect?

Often, it’s not one big thing that we can do to increase rankings, traffic, and earnings, it’s a combination of lots of little things.

Mushfiq is the owner of a popular website flipping newsletter, where he shares lots of "easy wins" for growing websites. To date, he has completed over 175 website flips, whether buying, selling, or brokering website deals.

Even more impressive, he’s done all of this while still holding a full-time job.

How did he manage to flip so many websites?

He’s created systematic processes of “easy wins.” These easy wins are tasks, or site improvements often overlooked but take relatively little time to complete and can provide a big impact.

I had Musfiq on the podcast 6 months ago and he shared examples of sites that he’d flipped, and some of the easy wins he’d implement to see growth.

Mushfiq actually did a bit of a "website teardown" on the podcast interview for my site, Own The Yard. He found several ways that I could improve the earnings and I've now implemented a range of these easy wins on Own The Yard, including:

• Introducing a sticky sidebar ad - this keeps one of the most valuable ad spaces in front of the reader
• Making the featured image smaller - this allows my site visitors to see some content above the fold, improving their experience
• Changing the wording on Amazon CTA buttons - Asking visitors to "Check Price on Amazon" or similar wording can have a big impact compared to just telling them to "Buy Now".

A few days ago I asked this question in the Niche Pursuits Facebook Group: What are your favorite blogs outside of business categories?

We had a good range of responses that went from ‘None - I only listen to podcasts’ to ‘travel blogs because I like exploring new places.’

Personally, when I’m not reading business-related blogs, I mostly only end up on them when I’m looking for an answer to a specific question. That might be ‘what are the best fridges in 2021,’ or ‘why does my knee click after I’ve run a marathon?’
