Three years ago, a business partner and I bought a niche website.

We wanted to buy a site in a private deal, rather than through a broker, so we started asking around if anyone wanted to sell. After a bit of back and forth with various potential sellers, we found the site we would ultimately buy – a mom blog!

​In this week’s podcast here, I’m doing an update on how the site is going and how much money it's making.

The content was (and still is) mostly made up of craft, cooking, and parenting content. It had many amazing links from the likes of the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, and so on.

While it was getting a decent amount of organic search traffic, it was getting many more visitors through Pinterest. At the time of purchase, it was getting over 15,000 sessions a day, so it was an attractive site to buy.
