Where breakthroughs come from, how to do case studies & more exciting course launches [Scale Your Impact #59]
Hi Reader, After mentoring a few hundred students in courses like Write of Passage, Building a Second Brain, and On Deck Course Creator, I know one thing... Breakthroughs come from conversations. Just yesterday, a student came into my Write of Passage mentor session confused about the next assignment. By the time it ended he not only knew what he wanted to write about, he had enough ideas for several articles. All it took was admitting that he was stuck. Immediately, multiple people offered their perspectives and helped him clarify his thinking. I've seen this happen again and again, and it always lights my heart up. So, if you're feeling stuck, I bet you know people who would be more than happy to hop on a call and talk it through with you. You just have to ask! (Also, I'm here for you, too. If you have a question, just hit reply.) Now, here's what I want to share with you this week. ---

Recruiting is broken. Here's how to fix it
I wrote this essay to get something off my chest: Most organizations suck at recruiting. Their hiring process is a mess, and they fail to treat their candidates with the respect and dignity they deserve. (This doesn't have anything to do with what I usually write about, but I feel better that I got this out of my head.)
Still in launch mode,

PS: I've been staying in the Leslieville neighborhood of Toronto for a couple of days.
Many houses here have little glowing hearts in their windows to signal that hate has no place here.
I think that's really cool!
