That Julie Andrews, singing on a mountain while watching a mob of cranky Austrian children, she knew what she was talking about.

The beginning is a very good place to start.

Today, I want you to go back through your Voice & Vision Questionnaire. While you'll want to look over the answers to ALL your questions for each email, I've also sussed out which questions may be the most relevant to this particular section.

For today's, you'll want to pay close attention to the answers on these five questions:
  • 5) How did you get into this?
  • 6) Why did you get into this?
  • 10) What about your business/brand gets you out of bed in the morning?
  • 20) In an ideal world, how will content affect your business/brand?
  • 31) If your business/brand were your best friend, what five (5) words would you use to describe it?
Did you take your time on these? Are they at least 4-5 sentences long? Do you feel closer to your business/brand reading through these specifically?

Are you excited about digging into your Voice & Vision MORE now that you've reviewed them?

The thing is, these questions are part of your "origin story" –– a literary term for a character's back-story, and what it is that brought them to this point.

Ok, it is mostly used in comic books and graphic novels, but that's literature!

So, let's pretend for a moment that you are the Superman or Wonder Woman (or whomever your favorite superhero might be) of your business/brand.

Why do you do what you do? What motivates you? How did you get to be so cool?

The answers are likely in the answers above. (Whoa. Deep thoughts.)

Over the next couple days, we're going to be jumping into more questions. By the end, you'll be able to write out and tell people EXACTLY what it is you are trying to say, and how you want to say it.

Excited? Me too.

See you tomorrow ~ Elisa
