Why A$AP Rocky is Forever First In the spring of 2011, XXL rolled out their highly anticipated Freshman list and cover.
Hitting at a moment when blogs had overtaken print as a point of influence, XXL’s roster reflected it, showcasing mixtape titans like Mac Miller and Big KRIT while also including co-signed up and comers like Meek
Mill and CyHi the Prince. Style purveyors such as Fred da Godson and YG put on for their coasts while the young man in the middle of the cover, Kendrick Lamar, ended up being pretty damn good himself.
Nowhere to be found was A$AP Rocky. Ten years ago, A$AP Rocky was overlooked. Today, he remains forever first, always at the origin and forefront of every look.
As A$AP Rocky's Live.Love.A$AP turned 10 over the weekend, Ian Stonebrook
dove into the artist's ascension in fashion and the bar he set. Read more here.

Carmelo Anthony Unveils His PE Rotation for the 2021-22 NBA Season Carmelo Anthony has always moved with grace, one of the most prolific scorers of all time. Some would say "it’s gotta be the shoes," as he’s been signed with Jordan Brand since entering the league in ‘03. In a lot of ways, Melo ushered in a new era for Jordan. Keeping MJ’s legacy alive (for a generation that never even saw him play) and taking them to new heights. His
signature line always pushed boundaries, as have his PE’s [of other models] throughout his decorated career.
As the season kicked off in LA, our own Marco Henry Negrete talked to Melo about the importance of Jordan Brand in his journey, the Air Jordan XXXVI, his PE rotation for the year, and playing for the Purple and Gold.

Upcoming Releases
Virgil Abloh Takes on the Nike Air Force 1 Mid With the OFF-WHITE x Air Jordan 2 release on the way, Virgil Abloh and Nike continue to keep applying pressure. The OFF-WHITE x Nike partnership extends onto its fifth year in 2022, the collaborative effort is tapping into a forgotten classic. The Nike Air Force 1 Mid is the next canvas for Abloh and the Swoosh as the mid-top sneaker is reimagined.
Releasing
in both a black and white colorway, the OFF-WHITE x Nike Air Force 1 Mid continues the OFF-WHITE streak of adding technical features to members of the Swoosh catalogue. The pair features signature features such as the overlace structure, an exposed layer, a zip-tag, and the OFF-WHITE x Nike branding on the shoe's medial side. The differences lie in the AF1 Mids' exposed Air unit as well as a waffle outsole integration that can't be missed with its bright contrast to the relatively monotone pairs.
Like most OFF-WHITE x Nike creations, there's scrutiny and doubt attached with early images and leaks dominating the internet. Though, as Virgil has proved time after time, there's a method to the madness that makes his work worth pursuing. A release date for the OFF-WHITE x Nike Air Force 1 Mid collection has yet to be officially announced, so stay tuned to SoleSavy for more.

The CDG x Nike Air Foamposite One Drops This Week The COMME des GARÇONS x Nike relationship is the gift that keeps giving. Through the years, CDG and the Swoosh have teamed up on an array of hits that have aged gracefully, with each release raising the bar for the successor.
After teased on the runway and as we head into the end of the year, the heavily anticipated COMME des
GARÇONS x Nike Air Foamposite One is finally releasing. The white and black pairs won't come cheap, however. Like most CDG collabs, a price increase is attached to the project. Retailing at $520 (each), the price point started a craze, questioning the Swoosh given that the Foamposite has always been a cultural relic, ignored by high-fashion and the mainstream trends. However, as Complex's Brendan Dunne reported, the collaborative pair was built out of an all-new mold, which is never an inexpensive task, especially for Foams.
Take a detailed look at the upcoming pairs here before this week's release.

The Swoosh adds another silhouette to the "Chlorophyll" lineage with the upcoming Nike SB Dunk Low. The green hue makes its way onto the shoe’s tongue and the "Nike" heel branding, while the grey, black, and white adorn the rest of the shoe. The panel
perforations and suede overlays pay homage to the Air Trainer 1. Read here.

'Tis The Season for Uniqlo x White Mountaineering Uniqlo tapped Japanese outdoors-brand White Mountaineering for a small collection. Mostly known for their excellent outerwear, White Mountaineering brings their expertise to a broader audience, and with Uniqlo’s resources, at a much affordable price. Parkas are pretty much expected once these two names are brought up, and they came through with top-notch offerings in both a heavyweight parka, as
well as a liner-styled lightweight version. Of course, the piece de resistance (pieces in this case), are the fleece offerings. Fleece has been a cold-weather wardrobe staple for many, and White Mountaineering has absolutely delivered on these.
There are two versions, a zip-up jacket that’s reminiscent of the highly-praised Engineered Garments collaboration from a few years ago. The other is a pullover piece that has limitless coziness written all over it.
With such a popular item that’s been adopted by so many brands in the last few years, it’s been harder and harder to produce a unique fleece, but this collaboration did just that. And to top it all off, both fleeces add up to just under $100 – that’s insane value. If you somehow passed on the Engineered Garments fleece from a few years back, I hope you don’t make the same mistake with these ones.

Upcoming Releases
New Balance is Nowhere Near Done New Balance continues its hot streak. If you haven't been paying attention by now, the Boston-based brand has been on a nearly unmatched run with its partners. From Kith, to Joe Freshgoods, to Bricks & Wood, to Salehe Bembury, to Aimé Leon Dore, and others, New Balance isn't letting up on its momentum anytime soon. As we approach the end of 2021, the brand is drawing
up some buzzer beaters for the end of the year as well as getting the ball rolling in early 2021.
This week, Joshua Vides and New Balance kick-off their partnership with a range of apparel and a paint-splattered 327 and 57/40 that emulate the artist's design process. If you're looking for something sweeter down the road, Concepts and NB
continue their relationship with a strawberry kiwi-inspired 992.
Whether you're a mood board enthusiast or looking for something more niche, New Balance continues to have you covered with its litany of collaborators and its expansive footwear catalogue. If the last four to five years are any indication of what's
ahead, we're all in for a treat as NB continues its rise to the top.
