The bad news is that fear never goes away. The good news is that fear never goes away. If we know that something is a constant, why wait for it to miraculously disappear?

Joze Piranian wants you to stop waiting for your breakthrough moment. In his poetic talk for CreativeMornings/Toronto, Piranian shares how he avoided speaking for more than 25 years out of the fear of being judged for his stutter. To tackle his loneliness, he challenged himself to talk to 100 strangers every week, and eventually spoke to thousands of strangers around the world. There was no single turning point, just millions of small moments of bravery where he repeatedly did what he did not want to do again and again. If you’re holding back from what you want out of fear, Piranian has a question for you: what is your prison and when will you escape?

Joze Piranian is a lifelong stutterer turned Global TEDx Speaker on Inclusion and Resilience. He has delivered hundreds of stand-up comedy and speaking engagements around diversity and inclusion, mental resilience, neurodiversity and ability.
