Opportunity #1: A virtual classroom solution with a focus on flipped learning

Outschool is a platform that lets private tutors teach small groups of remote classes, for kids between 3 and 18. It offers teachers an easy way to market classes, teach them online, and process payments, in exchange for 30% of the teacher’s total earnings.

During the pandemic, the struggle to replace in-person learning has led to new K-12 education trends, including parent-organized learning pods for small groups of children and private online tutoring. In a recent New Yorker article, Erin O’Connor characterized the pandemic as “a huge jolt to the American education system,” upturning traditional school practices for better or for worse.

The EdTech market is a huge space, with several sub-categories within it. Some companies in the market are focused on supplemental education/tutoring opportunities, such as Outschool and Juni Learning, whereas other solutions aim to replace in-person classroom-based learning, such as Zoom's education plans. There are also a number of solutions that focus on adult learning or re-skilling, but that’s a niche we aren’t focusing on today.

Today, we'll be looking at a relatively ambitious opportunity—to create a Zoom competitor in the K-12 niche. We'll begin by targeting the homeschool and private tutoring market while positioning ourselves to keep the door open for schools that might be interested in our product!

Opportunity #2:
A user insights platform for new SaaS companies

Pendo is a product experience platform that lets companies collect UX data and feedback, analyze feature usage and walk users through SaaS products with customizable popups. Companies can use insights gathered with Pendo to make data-driven decisions about how to improve their software product and generate more leads.

This week, we'll be taking a close look at user insight tools such as Pendo, MixPanel, HotJar, and UserIQ, understanding the differences between these popular solutions, why customers would prefer one solution over the other, and most importantly, where these companies are struggling.

Then, we'll be looking at how we can combine three adjacent software technologies to create an easy-to-use API. With screen replay, user surveys, and event tracking, companies will be able to capture how real users are performing tasks within the software.

We'll also discuss the top four marketing channels for this opportunity, to give you a starting point for selling this product through both inbound and outbound marketing channels.

If you're looking to start a company in a highly competitive (but highly in-demand) market, this is a great opportunity for you!

Opportunity #3:
A one-click solution to build a mobile eCommerce application.

Looking for a micro-SaaS? This issue has you covered!

Appointment Reminder is a simple service that allows service-based businesses (such as dentists, contractors, hairstylists, etc.) to send automated appointment reminders to their clients, decreasing the number of no-shows or missed appointments, thereby increasing revenue.

You might be surprised that software like this is still in-demand, given the rise of Vertical SaaS projects that cover this category.

In this opportunity, we explore why software like this is still so popular, what types of businesses are buying this type of software, and look at some of the major competitors such as 10to8, MindBody, and more.

Finally, we'll look at how we can apply the advances made by the famous GPT-3 AI to build a hyper-personalized reminder solution!

This opportunity also provides a prototype of a GPT-3 algorithm to allow you to build this into a functional MVP in working time!

If you're looking for an opportunity at the intersection of cutting-edge AI and micro-SaaS, you won't want to miss this one!
