Consumer Research Study: 2022 Shopping Outlook

Hi Reader,

With more than half of the U.S. population vaccinated, many Americans are once again socializing with friends and family, enjoying meals at their favorite restaurants, traveling, and more. But even so, many consumers haven’t fully returned to their pre-pandemic shopping and spending habits. In fact, 58% of consumers say they are approaching their finances in 2022 by proceeding with caution and keeping spending low.

Shopkick surveyed 15,000+ American consumers to get a pulse on financial security, spending expectations, pandemic-related concerns, and more. Our latest study reveals key insights for brands and retailers as we approach the new year, including:

How consumers are planning to adjust their essential and non-essential budgets
When, or if, consumers expect to return to their pre-pandemic shopping and spending habits
Levels of concern surrounding the risk of continued inflation and supply chain shortages
How expectations for the new year vary by generation
