Morfternight

by Paolo Belcastro

👋 Hello Reader!

Welcome to Morfternight, the newsletter that got a booster!

A vaccine booster that is, on Monday. To be honest, that made me kind of useless yesterday, with my immune system running full blast and all that jazz, but after a good night of sweating and sleeping, I feel like new.

That explains why Morfternight is reaching your inboxes a bit on the late side of today; I had a lot to catch up with, especially with Thanksgiving cutting the week of my American colleagues short.

So, we will keep this one short and sweet. Consistency is paramount at this stage of my newsletter experience.

Without further ado, let's dive into Morfternight, the newsletter that is better late than never!

👓 Stuff I read and liked

I know I already recommended an episode of Tim Ferriss' podcast last week, but it seems the guy's on a roll lately. I listened to a new episode in the past few days:
Balaji Srinivasan on Bitcoin, The Great Awokening, Wolf Warrior Diplomacy, Open-Source Ecology, Reputational Civil War, Creating New Cities, and Options for Becoming a Sane but Sovereign Individual. If you think that the title is long, wait until you hear that the interview is over four hours. Now consider that, after listening to it once, I am actually halfway through a second listening, because it is so rich once is not enough.
I may have mentioned my recent interest in web3 stuff, NFTs in particular, and as I was trying to understand enough to share on the blog, I found this Twitter thread about JPGs, myths, memes. Def worth a read unless you really hate the tweetstorm format (I don't like it much, but I'll read good content in whatever shape or form).

✒️ Something I made

Last week, I launched a new content section on the blog with a short ramble titled Hey Mr Rabbit, how deep is this hole? I thought I'd have something more to share today, but as I mentioned, I lost a Tuesday along the way, and my new post is not exactly ready. But, with that being said, I did along the way create my first NFT collection on OpenSea. It's called "Bims" and is a series from my work on the tramway in Vienna. I also started playing with Cyber, a platform to showcase NFT art on virtual 3D walls.

😳 🤯 😤 🤬 🤣 🤪 🤩 A section for things that tickled my brain or made me sweat, laugh, or get angry at clouds...

This one made me angry... I am glad we are still at a stage where reporters can ask hard questions, but given the replies, I am unsure how long that will last.

🖖

That's it for today! You can find more of my stuff on paolo.blog, and if you think that someone you know could enjoy Morfternight, the newsletter to share, please forward it to them or send them this link to subscribe.

Cheers!
